Hello Everyone,
I can't help but address some of the great excuses I have heard recently:
"I went to Miami"
I went shoe shopping"
"Dinner with the family"
and among so many others, my personal favorite...
"A knitting emergency" (I have no clue how these 2 words even appear in the same sentence).
But-here's the thing...most folks dig deep to find really creative excuses for not exercising, but I challenge you to think outside of the box:
Dinner with your family-preceded with, or followed by a walk, perhaps some squats or push-ups...maybe even substitute another day to make up for your dinner? Just a thought.
Really though, regardless of whatever reasons you may conjure up for not working out-I have pretty much heard them all and they do not affect my health or physique. It is you who loses by not comitting to your health. It doesn't even have to be as hard as you may think...the bottom line is that if it is more than you are doing right now it will benefit you. Start small with your goals. It doesn't have to be 7 days a week-pick 1 day and do more than you are doing right now. Commit to you. Commit to your health and I know where there is a great class on Wed and Fri at 6:30...hope to see you there.
Valerie

I heard jump rope is the best exercise to lose weight.
True, jumping rope is a great workout, however, the average person beginning a fitness program will probably not be able to jump long enough to burn sufficient calories, has an increased risk of injury from this activity and will get frustrated due to the degree of difficulty. Therefore, it isn't necessarily "the best exercise to lose weight". Instead I would encourage an activity such as walking or the Elyptical to build up cardiovascular endurance and setting realistic goals which will be next week's topic.
See you in the gym.
